Natural Readers

Meeting at the visitor center in Freedom Park, second Friday of every month at 10 am. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather as we will be walking one of the Freedom Park trails while we discuss the month’s book choice. You will also be able to pick up a copy of next month's book.

Address: Freedom Park Interpretive Center, 5537 Centerville Road

This month's read: Bewilderment by Richard Powers.

Theo Byrne searches for planets far outside our solar system, but his biggest challenge lies closest to home. He's being pressured to put his nine-year-old son Robbie on medication to help with Robbie's outbursts. Theo finds a way to help Robbie, but he also learns that the boy's wonder at the natural world carries its own risks.

We'll also distribute copies of July's book, All Creatures Great and Small. (Rain or shine. We'll stay indoors if the weather is bad.)
