Writers' Club

Writers' Club In-Person

Are you a writer? Whether or not you’re published, you can benefit from this supportive writer’s group. Listen to informative talks on a variety of writing-related topics and meet other writers and aspiring writers. Led by local author/editor Brian Forrester. For ages 13+.

This month's topic: Partnering with Booksellers (with Lucas Marino)

In this practical workshop, you’ll learn ways to build partnerships with the retailers that connect you to readers.

Lucas Marino — owner of Spineless Reads and cofounder of Sobelo Books — will give an insider’s perspective and show you how to:

  • Approach booksellers with confidence and clarity

  • Get your books on shelves, whether you’re self-published or working with a small press

  • Collaborate on events that vendors are excited to host

  • Understand the publishing ecosystem from a bookseller’s position

This free Williamsburg Regional Library workshop is led by Brian Forrester, an award-winning copywriter and the author of two young adult novels. His most recent book is Color The Sky With Song.
