One Book One Community: The Battle of the Virginia Capes In-Person
The Battle of Yorktown did not take place in a vacuum. Between Cape Charles and Cape Henry, a French fleet under the Comte de Grasse fended off the British navy and prevented it from evacuating the army to fight elsewhere. How did the battle come about, what determined the outcome, and happened next? Randy Flood of the Virginia War Museum will walk us through the events and their consequences.
