Recording Her Story: An Oral History Workshop in Women's History  In-Person

All too often, women are lost in the historical record. Older generations of women were among the first to break into the workforce, redefine marriage and gender expectations, and enter public life—all while raising children and managing households. In this workshop, we will explore how to preserve these remarkable stories through oral history. Participants will learn the fundamentals of oral history: how to plan, record, and preserve an interview! We will discuss everything from effective interview strategies to selecting the right recording technology.  Although tailored to women's history, this workshop will be beneficial to anyone looking to begin an oral history project.
