SUMMARY:Yarn & Fabric Arts Swap
DESCRIPTION:It’s the cozy season—are you looking to refresh your yarn 
 or sewing supplies? Donate your unwanted supplies to the reference desk at 
 either the Williamsburg or James City County Libraries from Saturday\, 
 January 24 through Thursday\, January 29. All donated supplies must be 
 usable and in good condition. There is a one-box limit to donations\, 
 maximum size approximately 20”X16”X15” (about the size of a Medium 
 Home Depot moving box\, for reference.) All items must be related to yarn\, 
 needle\, or fabric arts. \n\nThe swap will run from 1:00-3:00 pm on January 
 31 in the Stryker Center. Donors of supplies will receive a ticket that 
 will grant them exclusive entry to the swap between 1:00 and 1:15 pm. Doors 
 will open to the general public at 1:15 pm and continue until the swap 
 closes at 3 pm. \n\nWe will have a one-bag limit per adult who attends the 
 swap. (Examples include paper or plastic grocery bags and small to medium 
 size reusable tote bags.) 4-gallon trash bags\, large reusable bags (Ikea 
 size)\, or anything bigger are not permitted. \n\nSuggested items: 
 \n\n\n	\n	Yarn \n	\n\n\n\n	\n	Fabric and felt \n	\n\n\n\n	\n	Knitting and 
 crochet supplies (needles\, hooks\, stitch counters\, etc) 
 \n	\n\n\n\n	\n	Embroidery/needlework kits \n	\n\n\n\n	\n	Needlework 
 supplies (hoops\, floss\, aida\, hand needles\, linen fabric\, etc) 
 \n	\n\n\n\n	\n	Sewing notions (thread\, trim/binding\, zippers\, buttons\, 
 etc) \n	\n\n\n\n	\n	Patterns\, including sewing\, quilt\, hand embroidery\, 
 knitting and crocheting \n	\n\n\nWe will not accept: \n\n\n	\n	Sewing 
 machines\, embroidery machines\, sergers\, or irons—anything that plugs 
 into a wall or requires batteries. \n	\n\n\n\n	\n	Donations that are 
 visibly dirty\, wet\, or damaged. This includes containers donations are 
 dropped off in. We do not want to invite dirt or critters into the library! 
 \n	\n\n\n\n	\n	Donations with strong odors such as pets\, mildew\, 
 garbage\, or smoke. \n	\n\n\n\n	\n	Hazardous materials. Check with James 
 City County\, York County or the City of Williamsburg for proper disposal 
 methods for these items. \n	\n\n\n\n	\n	Completed or partially-completed 
 crafts. \n	\n\n\n\n	\n	Anything other than yarn or fabric arts-related 
 craft supplies. No paints\, jewelry making\, cardstock\, stamps\, etc. 
 please. \n	\n\n\n\n	\n	Books. Please donate them to the Friends of the 
 Library carts!  \n	\n\n\nUnused supplies may be used for future library 
 programs or donated elsewhere.
